Hi. My name is Susana Field. My personal knowledge of the Steamboat real estate market stretches back to the early 1970s, when my eldest brother moved here and bought his first of several homes. Steamboat was a very sleepy town back then. In 1993, I too moved here, with my husband John and our one-year old son Cliff. Besides investing in real estate - as do all seven members of my family - my husband and I owned and operated Top Drawer Custom Closets here for twelve years. As we helped organize many of Steamboat's finest homes, it was our customer service that particularly became the hallmark of our successful business. Yet, alas, closets were not my life-long passion - although I do check them out in every home I enter!
In 2006 my husband and I sold our business and I dove fully into my love of real estate. Preferring service over salesmanship, after a year and a half working in a traditional office I chose to dedicate my career exclusively to representing buyers and their traditionally much under-served need.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree, which, along with my EcoBroker certification, helps when looking at Green Living issues; and a Master of Arts degree in Adult Education, which helps when identifying our clients' needs and providing them with empowering, understandable information. Originally from Puerto Rico, I also love being able to help our Hispanic buyers in their native tongue.
I love outdoor adventure, as well as living in a tight-knit, safe, and caring community set within the beautiful landscape of the Yampa Valley.
When I'm not hip-deep in real estate, you may find my husband and me up alongside the big ski jumps at Howelsen Hill. Our son, Cliff, is following the Steamboat tradition of being a decorated Nordic Combined (ski jumping + cross-country skiing) athlete; he was a 2007 and 2008 U.S. Junior Olympic Champion, and is currently representing the United States in Nordic Combined competitions both at home and overseas. Come help us cheer!
